This was my first game at Ettalong (first recorded one and quite possibly my first ever, since I was quite keen to record them all at that stage. Played in the library of the Ettalong War Memorial Club. Bill was a kindly older gent (in his 70's/80's). A Tuesday afternoon - Ettalong met Tues afternoons and Thurs nights then. The library was closed a couple of year's later and in the 90's was the administration offices. Whether this -was- my first game at a club, Bill was definitely my first opponent. Years later he passed away, when he was too frail to come to the club I used to visit fairly regularly and we would play but then he was too frail to play so I just visited to have a chat for a year or so. 1-0
